Woodridge Primitive Park | Kansas
Mike’s Score: Decent spot with a solid hike to the lake and back. It’s main pro is also it’s main con - this area is free to camp at. Which is handy on the wallet, but does attract some riff raff. 2/5

Description
Woodridge Primitive Park is free to use by the public and is open year round. The property borders Clinton Lake near Lawrence, Kansas and is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Camping & Hiking
The main parking area includes about 10 drive up campsites with fire rings and tables. The sites are first-come, first served. Also available is a small building equipped with running, drinking water and basic, vault toilet restrooms.
The park features a 4.5 mile hike known as the George Latham trail. The hike is a loop which guides you down to the lake and back up to camp. The trail traverses a few distinct terrains; woods, meadows and hay fields, and meets up with the lakeshore intermittently. The trail is well kept, but is quite rocky and rooty at times. Along the trail there are 15 designated, marked campsites with fire rings available for use.
