Sloppy Joes

Sloppy Joes with some kick!

Recipe

  • Ground beef

  • Onion

  • Diced tomatoes & green chilies, can

  • Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, can

  • Mustard

  • Barbeque sauce

  • Brown Sugar

  • Buns

  • Optional: shredded cheese

Instructions

  • Start by grilling the onions in a pot - giving these a head start will help them caramelize in time for the other steps

  • Brown the beef - meat into an oiled pan for 20 minutes

  • Add the beef to the onion pot

  • Add can of diced tomatoes + can of chipotle peppers

  • Add mustard, barbeque sauce, and brown sugar. The sugar helps balance the heat so if you used the whole can of chipotle peppers, then use a generous amount of brown sugar

  • Stir and simmer for 20 minutes, lid on

  • Optional: add in shredded cheese and mix

  • Serve!
